Such A Good Boy

Hayden is quite the star. He has continued to sleep well at night and during the day. It means that I have been able to work a lot this week and get my rest at night. He has had me up since 5:30 this morning, but that is OK as he slept 10 hours beforehand and has slept enough during the day to enable me to work a 7 hour day.
He has so many admirers at work. He flirts with everyone...flashing his adorable smile and kicking his legs with excitement.

Hike Along Cedar Creek

This evening we went for a stroll along Cedar Creek. Boone got to try out his new haircut that Shane gave him...it worked great! - No burrs in the ears! Poor Boone had his ear hair and belly hair shaved off this afternoon. He has been coming home from work covered in burrs and they are a pain to comb out of him (literally). With his new shorter hairdo, Shane does not have to worry about combing him at the end of every work day. So everyone is happier.
Hayden fell asleep pretty much immediately on the walk, but it was nice to get him out in the fresh air for a while. Plus, Boone needed to run pretty bad.
It is still hot...it got to 100 degrees again today. I am definitely ready for the autumn temperatures.

Ahhhhhh, so sweet.

Hayden taking his morning nap in mummy and daddy's bed. So cute.

Playing In The Sunshine

Hayden had another very sleepy day today. So much so, that I ended up staying home from work. He must be going through a growth spurt with all this sleeping!

Here are some pictures from the few minutes we spent outside on the lawn this evening.

Happy Baby

I realized that I have forgotten to mention Hayden's great sleeping patterns...he has been sleeping through the night for about a week now!! Yeah!! He goes to bed between 7:30-8:30pm (depending on the nap situation for the day) and has been waking up between 5:30-7:00am...it has been lovely. He is sleeping down the hall in his own bed, in his own bedroom. Now that he has been sucking his thumb, he can soothe himself back to sleep - and no longer needs us! I know that in 13 years we will be regretting him sucking his thumb (when we have to pay for braces on his teeth!!)...but for right now, it is a blessing. He is still taking great naps during the day all of which enable me to work. He is an all around great, easy kid. (Of course, I have now probably jinxed myself by saying all this....hmmmmmmm).

Three Months Old...

...as of yesterday. He already seems so big and grown up. He talks like crazy (no idea where he gets that from!) and has an opinion about most things. He flashes his cute smile everywhere and just seems to be loving life. He is, quite simply, wonderful.

Happy Morning

Hayden and daddy had some alone time last night while I went to see the Lippizzaner Stallions with some friends. By all accounts, it was a successful evening for all. I had a great time spending time with friends, watching horses and being out of the house...Shane and Hayden had a good time reading electrical wiring books and taking naps!

This morning Hayden has been extra chatty, super smiley and wonderfully cute. It was a great time to video his baby noises and take pictures of his smiles. He has started to suck his thumb when he gets tired...he sucks his left thumb, just like I used to when I was little. Of course, we had to take pictures of this too...

This weekend is Labor Day Weekend...a three day weekend. It is also the Inter-Mountain Fair over in McArthur. I hope to be able to take Shane and Hayden over to the fair to see the pigs, cows, sheep, rabbits, horses etc. I think he will have a lot of fun. We'll see if we make it...

Hayden's "Bear Bum" Morning

These were taken this morning during Hayden's usual morning exercise. He loves to play in the morning sun on our bed and talks the whole time...I wonder who he takes over for all the verbal noise he makes?!!!!

First Time In His Big Boy Bed

...and it was a huge, huge success.

Shane put the bed together last night and I made it up this morning. It looks wonderful!! Hayden seems to appreciate it!

Apologies...

...it has been a crazy week and I have been unable to take pictures, much less post them. So here are, again, some very overdue pictures. These were taken this morning. The picture of Hayden and I was taken by Shane right before he went to work. Hayden and I slept in until 8:30!! I cannot believe it!! Well, it has a lot to do with a very late night on both our parts (Shane's too) as we went to Redding last night as a family to go grocery shopping and pick up some bits'n'pieces...including Hayden's new crib!! Yes, Hayden is going to be moving out of his hammock and in to his big boy bed soon. Ahhhhh, he's growing up.

Hayden and I are staying home from work today. It has been slow over at the store, so I have decided to get some work done from home instead. Staying home will save carting Hayden to work and save on my gas/petrol. I am excited to have a quiet day around the house.

He's Going To Be A Red-Head...

...of some kind; maybe, a strawberry blond...

I got my first full night sleep last night...Shane took the whole night shift using milk that I had pumped before going to bed. It is the first full night that I have had since being 7.5 months pregnant (about 15 weeks ago)!! It was much needed, and much appreciated. Shane said the night went pretty smoothly and Hayden woke up at 1:30am (and went promptly back to sleep without needing to eat), 3:30am (where Hayden ate and went back to sleep) and then finally at 6-ish.
I wish I could say I feel completely revived, but I am so tired that I am afraid I will never catch up!! It was nice to be able to completely switch off every part of my brain and not have to listen for Hayden.

Evening Trip To Lake Margaret

There is a nearby reservoir (a man made lake to be used as irrigation water by a local ranch/rice fields) called Lake Margaret. This year it has completely drained/dried out. Shane, Hayden, Boone and I went for a walk to see and used it as an excuse to get out of the hot house.
Boone had great fun playing in the left over ponds of water and the thick mud they had surrounding them. At one point he chased a whole flock of geese...just because he could.
Hayden seemed to enjoy being out in the cool of the mountains and stayed awake for the walkabouts.
