Hayden had his five month birthday on Saturday. I still cannot believe how fast time continues to go. He is giggling now - out loud...real belly laughs - he sucks in his bottom lip, he sticks out his tongue, he continues to growl, he talks and he is just a lot of fun.
Just today, I had him playing on his bedroom floor. When I came back into his room after getting the camera, I watched him while he was making himself laugh. He was playing with a couple of rattles and just entertaining himself into hysterics. He had me laughing with him and at him. It was a fun moment.
I have stayed home and worked from home today. It was snowing yesterday so I bought my work computer home just in case the roads were bad. The roads were fine this morning, but I just wanted to be home and have Hayden all to myself. So I have worked while he sleeps. It has been a really nice day.
I find that I am enjoying motherhood far more than I ever imagined possible. I enjoy the slower pace that I have adopted, the less emphasis I have placed on having a clean house, the need for simpler things and (beware cliche approaching) seeing the world through a child's eyes. Hayden has been good for me.
